💪 Fitness class or Challenge – I’m sure you’ve read by now that exercise has been researched to be as powerful (if not more so) than the average antidepressant.  Your brain and body thrive off working up a sweat!  Why is it that we can feel quite literally “high” after a great workout?  For one, neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine kick into play, both of which are necessary to keep depression and anxiety at bay.  So get your sweat on for just 30 minutes of moderate-intensity each day, in a way that also fuels your soul, and feel your mood soar!

 

Soul candy – speaking of your soul, have you experienced being in a “flow state” or “in the zone”, doing something you love to do that feeds your sense of purpose?  Whether it’s your vocation or a healthy hobby, the activities that bring you this level of meaning and pleasure simultaneously, making you forget time and space completely, are highly recommended for your best health.  Writing, painting, creating something new, learning new things (the brain loves novelty), and walking through nature are just some of the many ways you can feel major mood enhancement!

 

Goal Progress – while creating goals can feel very exciting, the real stimulation comes from learning to love the journey.  Productivity can create a feeling of deep pleasure (and boy do I love checking things off a to-do list for a little dopamine hit) but it’s ideal when you focus on priorities first, making sure they are aligned with your future goals and your deepest self.  Write down your values first (your ‘true north’ compass), then your goals, and when you know they are in alignment, give yourself incremental steps to take each and every day.  You will be so rewarded in the process without having to wait for the completion to feel accomplished!

We kindly request that all changes to appointments be made by calling 646-830-4423. Services must be rescheduled or cancelled at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Cancellations and reschedules made after this time will result in the full price of the session.
